President Bola Tinubu has departed Abuja for Europe to begin a three-week annual vacation, with London, United Kingdom, as his first destination.
The President’s departure was announced on Sunday by his Special Adviser on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga.
According to Onanuga, the trip is part of Tinubu’s annual leave, after which the President is expected to return to Nigeria and resume official activities.
“President Bola Ahmed Tinubu will depart Abuja today for Europe to begin a three-week vacation as part of his annual leave. His first stop will be London, United Kingdom,” Onanuga said in a statement.
He added that Tinubu would return to the country immediately after the vacation to participate in preparations and campaigning ahead of the January 2027 general election.
The President’s trip comes amid increasing political activities across Nigeria as political parties and aspirants intensify their preparations for the 2027 elections.
The Presidency, however, did not provide details of Tinubu’s itinerary in London or disclose whether he would visit other European destinations during the three-week break.
Tinubu’s return is expected to coincide with an increasingly active political season as the country moves closer to the 2027 polls.
