Bauchi State Governor Bala Mohammed has expressed grief over the death of his Special Adviser on Higher Education, Yakubu Ibrahim, and the tragic loss of two children of former Deputy Governor Baba Tela in a road accident.
In a statement issued by the Governor’s Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Mukhtar Gidado, Mohammed extended his condolences to the bereaved families on behalf of the government and people of Bauchi State.
According to the statement, Yakubu Ibrahim passed away in Abuja after a prolonged illness. He was described as a respected educationist, elder statesman, and former Commissioner for Religious Affairs who dedicated many years to public service.
The governor said Ibrahim served diligently as Special Adviser on Higher Education, where he contributed significantly to the growth and development of the education sector in Bauchi State through his experience, wisdom, and commitment.
Mohammed noted that the late adviser was known for his integrity, humility, and passion for education, adding that his contributions to public service would remain a lasting legacy.
The governor also sympathised with former Deputy Governor Baba Tela following the death of his children, Mustapha and Ummi, who lost their lives in a road accident along the Bauchi–Azare Road while returning from Azare.
He described the incident as a heartbreaking tragedy and prayed for the peaceful repose of the deceased, asking Almighty Allah to grant them Aljannatul Firdaus and give their families the strength to bear the loss.
Governor Mohammed also wished those injured in the accident a speedy recovery and called on residents of the state to pray for the bereaved families during this difficult period.
