BUA Foods has announced the biggest expansion programme in its history following a record financial performance in 2025, as the company moves to strengthen its position in Nigeria’s highly competitive food industry.
The food manufacturing giant, chaired by billionaire businessman Abdulsamad Rabiu, reported a record N518.4 billion profit for the 2025 financial year. Building on that momentum, the company is investing heavily in new production facilities, product diversification and increased manufacturing capacity.
As part of the expansion, BUA Foods plans to enter Nigeria’s growing instant noodles market, while significantly increasing its wheat milling and edible oils production. The move is expected to broaden the company’s product portfolio and boost its share of the country’s consumer goods market.
Rabiu said the ambitious investment programme is designed to position BUA Foods as Nigeria’s largest food manufacturer by next year, intensifying competition with long established players in the industry.
The expansion comes at a time when demand for affordable staple foods continues to rise across Nigeria, driven by population growth and changing consumer preferences. Industry analysts believe the company’s increased production capacity could reshape competition in one of Africa’s largest consumer markets.
Beyond strengthening its market position, the expansion is also expected to create employment opportunities, support local agricultural value chains and contribute to Nigeria’s food security objectives.
With fresh investments in manufacturing infrastructure and new product lines, BUA Foods is positioning itself for long term growth while reinforcing its commitment to meeting the food needs of millions of Nigerians.
