A few Super Eagles stars were in action for their respective European clubs on Tuesday, and it was a successful night for most of them, Soccernet.ng reports.

First off, Tolu Arokodare came off the bench to inspire a hard-fought 2-1 victory for Wolverhampton Wanderers over Liverpool at Molineux.

The Nigerian forward was introduced at the hour mark, and it took him only 18 minutes to make his presence felt.

Arokodare provided a sublime assist for Rodrigo Gomes following some excellent hold-up play from a long ball. Gomes made no mistake from close range, beating Alisson Becker one-on-one to make it 1-0.

While the home side’s joy was momentarily dampened by Mohamed Salah’s equalizer five minutes later, a late strike from André ensured the match ended 2-1 in favor of the hosts.

Although Arokodare did not get on the scoresheet himself, his vital assist and overall influence in the final third were impressive.

The win takes Wolves to 16 points after 30 games. However, they remain 11 points adrift of safety, currently occupied by Nottingham Forest. With the Tricky Trees holding two games in hand, Wolves still face a significant mountain to climb to bridge the gap.

In Turkey, Paul Onuachu was initially rested by Trabzonspor coach Fatih Tekke for their trip to Istanbul to face Istanbul Basaksehir in the Turkish Cup. However, the prolific striker was called upon just before his side fell a goal behind.

The Nigerian proved his worth once more, scoring a spectacular goal to put his side 3-2 ahead.

Ozan Tufan later added a fourth to ensure the game ended 4-2 in Trabzonspor’s favor. Onuachu’s ability to impact the game from the bench continues to be a major asset for the Black Sea Storm.

It was a challenging night for Lookman and his teammates, as they were largely outplayed by a dominant Barcelona side.

Trailing by four goals from the first leg, Barcelona came agonizingly close to a historic turnaround, scoring three times at the Camp Nou.

The Catalan giants had several opportunities to add a fourth and level the aggregate score before the final whistle, but Los Colchoneros held firm.

Despite the 3-0 loss on the night, Atletico Madrid secured their place in their first Copa del Rey final in 13 years.
