Super Eagles and Galatasaray striker Victor Osimhen has spoken on his altercation with Liverpool players in their UEFA Champions League clash, Soccernet.ng reports.
Okan Buruk’s side secured a narrow 1-0 win at RAMS Park in hopes of qualifying for the quarter-final of the UEFA Champions League for the first time since 2013.
Seven minutes into the away leg at Anfield, their ambition suffered a big hit after Victor Osimhen clattered into Ibrahima Konate, and as such, fracturing his right forearm.
While the Nigerian striker was receiving treatment on the pitch, Liverpool midfielder, Szoboszlai, felt he was intentionally wasting time, and urged Osimhen to get up, a request the striker didn’t take kindly to.

Osimhen struggled to get going in the game and had to be taken off at halftime, with Leroy Sane coming on in his place.
However, the tie was already over. With Osimhen off the pitch, Arne Slot’s side cruised into another gear in front of their home fans.
Goals from Dominik Szoboszlai, Hugo Ekitike, Ryan Gravenberch, and Mohamed Salah secured a 4-1 aggregate win for Liverpool, heralding them into the quarter-final clash against Paris Saint-Germain.

The former Napoli striker has been told he’ll need to have surgery on his arm, but he opted to travel to Nigeria first before returning to Turkiye to go under the knife.
Speaking on a livestream with Carter Efe, Osimhen revealed that Szoboszlai and Ibrahima Konate reached out to him after the game to apologise for the on-field altercation.

“I’m not scared of anything. I’ve faced so much in life. Szoboszlai and I had an on-field conversation.
“After the game, he came to meet me and mentioned he didn’t know the injury was as serious.
“Konate also messaged me on Instagram and told me he didn’t mean to harm me. It’s football, these things happen,” the Super Eagles striker concluded.
