Residents in parts of the Federal Capital Territory will experience a temporary power outage following a planned maintenance exercise by the Transmission Company of Nigeria (TCN).
The maintenance will take place at the Katampe 132/33kV Transmission Substation between 9:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m. and will involve servicing the 100MVA 132/33kV power transformer, auxiliary equipment and other critical transmission facilities.
The exercise will temporarily disrupt electricity supply to several areas, including Mpape, Maitama, Jahi, Life Camp, Kado, the Fish Market area, Idu-Karmo and neighbouring communities.
TCN explained that the maintenance is part of routine efforts to improve the reliability, efficiency and stability of the national transmission network.
The company apologised for the temporary inconvenience and assured residents that power supply would be restored immediately after the maintenance work is completed.
