Galatasaray striker Victor Osimhen has urged his teammates to remain focused despite the club’s impressive recent form, warning that the coming days could define their entire season, Soccernet.ng reports.

The Turkish champions continued their strong run with a confident 3-1 victory over Alanyaspor at RAMS Park on Saturday. Osimhen once again played a decisive role, scoring one goal and providing an assist as Galatasaray strengthened their position at the top of the Turkish Super Lig standings.

The win came shortly after Galatasaray’s thrilling 7-5 aggregate triumph over Juventus in the UEFA Champions League, a result that sent the Istanbul club into the Round of 16 for the first time in 12 years.

Across those two major fixtures, Osimhen delivered four goal contributions, one goal and three assists.

Despite the excitement around the club, the Nigerian international believes this is not the time for celebration.

Galatasaray remain active in three competitions, with another meeting against Alanyaspor in the Turkish Cup coming up quickly. That will be followed by a difficult away derby against fierce rivals Beşiktaş, a match that could influence the title race, especially with challengers Fenerbahçe and Trabzonspor waiting for any slip.

After that domestic test, Galatasaray will host Liverpool in a huge Champions League encounter before travelling to Anfield for the return leg.

“The Beşiktaş match is a critical one,” Osimhen told Galatasaray’s official website.

“We’re taking it one match at a time. Of course, it will be a big match. A very high-quality team awaits us, but we also have a very high-quality team. We’ll go there for 3 points! It won’t be easy. First the Beşiktaş match, then Liverpool, but let’s not forget that we also have a cup match against the team we just played against! There are many more matches ahead of us until the end of the season.”

Victor Osimhen: Emotional moment with Galatasaray fans

Away from the action on the pitch, Osimhen experienced a deeply emotional moment with Galatasaray supporters before the Alanyaspor match.

Fans prepared a special choreography in honour of his late mother, while members of the club’s ultras spent time with the striker and presented a banner reading: ‘We are a family, and family is more important than anything.’

The gesture left the forward visibly touched.

“I didn’t know the fans were prepared,” Osimhen said. “It was a surprise.

“Everything they’ve done since I arrived is very precious to me. First, I came on loan. Words can’t describe it. Such loving fans. We have a fanbase that creates a special bond with the players, beyond just football. I’m truly very happy.

“I agree with what was written on the banner. We are a family, and family is more important than anything. I’m at a club I love, with people I love very much. We’re together through good times and bad! We’re enjoying every moment. I’m very grateful for their support.”

Osimhen’s performances continue to justify that affection. In 36 appearances for club and country this season, the Super Eagles striker has recorded 26 goals and nine assists; a remarkable 35 direct goal contributions as Galatasaray chase success on multiple fronts.
