The governorship candidate of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) in Kaduna State, Isa Ashiru Kudan, has met with former Kaduna State Governor, Nasir El-Rufai, following the controversy surrounding a leaked audio recording allegedly linked to him.
Ashiru disclosed the meeting in a social media post, describing it as productive and saying it strengthened the party’s resolve ahead of the 2027 governorship election in Kaduna State.
Although he did not reveal where the meeting took place, Ashiru said the ADC was fully prepared to challenge the ruling APC administration, which he accused of failing to meet the expectations of the people.
The meeting comes days after a leaked audio recording allegedly featuring Ashiru sparked controversy within the party. While some supporters dismissed the recording as fabricated or AI-generated, others questioned its authenticity.
Despite the controversy, Ashiru maintained that the opposition remains united and determined to pursue its political objectives in Kaduna State ahead of the 2027 elections.
