It all started with a WhatsApp status. One random day, I was scrolling through my friend Joshua’s WhatsApp status when I saw this stunning young lady pop up on his status. I immediately messaged him: “Aweh, who is this damsel?” And the next question came naturally, “Is she in the UK?” So, I sent that first text, introduced myself, and the conversation just flowed. Effortlessly. No forced vibes, just easy banter that clicked straight away. Fast forward a couple of weeks, it was my birthday, and she completely surprised me with a thoughtful gift. It wasn’t just the gift itself, but the intent behind it that stood out. From that point, I knew this connection was something special.

A few days in, we had our first phone call. What was meant to be a quick chat turned into a two-hour conversation filled with laughter, and that rare kind of chemistry where you just get each other. It honestly felt like we’d known each other for years. Not long after, we took our first trip together to Newcastle for his birthday, which was poetic since it’s where his football club is based. We spent the day watching Newcastle play, and later that evening over dinner, He asked me to be his girlfriend. And just like that, what started from a simple WhatsApp story became our story. One filled with laughter, shared playlists, spontaneous trips, and countless moments that remind us we were meant to find each other, exactly when we did.
