Nasarawa APC: Address Irregularities Or I Contest Under Another Party – Adamu

The former Inspector General of Police (IGP) Mohammed Adamu Abubakar, has said he will contest the 2027 Nasarawa governorship election on another political platform if the All Progressives Congress (APC) failed to address alleged irregularities in its recent primary.

Speaking to journalists in Lafia on Saturday, after the declaration of the APC governorship primary results in favour of Senator Wadada as winner of the primary election, Adamu said he had formally appealed to the party’s leadership over what he described as injustice in the exercise.

He said his aspiration to rescue and reposition Nasarawa state remains alive, and expressed confidence that with public support, he would contest and win in 2027 either under APC or any other party.

“Should justice prevail, we shall continue our journey within the APC. However, “If justice is denied” we shall communicate to you the next line of action and the political platform under which we shall contest the 2027 governorship race,” he said.

Adamu alleged that the primary election was compromised against the wishes of genuine APC members across the state, attributing the alleged manipulation to the lack of transparency and accountability in the internal party process.

He claimed that in areas where voting genuinely took place and votes were counted, he won convincingly.

He alleged that in several areas elections did not hold, result sheets were taken away and manipulated by some state government officials in collaboration with certain local government chairmen to produce “fictitious results” in favour of a preferred candidate.

He therefore, urged his supporters to remain calm, peaceful, and law-abiding.“We shall remain united, hopeful and committed to the struggle for fairness and a better Nasarawa State,” he said.
